Lime Jam’s very own Vicky Reader from Bradford is trying to drum up support to reach the final of an international drumming contest.
Vicky has entered in to the fourth annual ‘Hit Like A Girl’ female drumming competition.
Vicky hopes to become a ‘wild card’ finalist chosen from the 18+ age group after all the votes have been cast. Voting ends today.
As it stands Vicky is in 13th place and is the only UK entrant in the top 25 (making her Britain’s top female drummer!).
Vicky has been playing since she was 10 years old and at present drums for acoustic musician/songwriter Jake Smallbones, pop singer/songwriter Jess Thristan and metal band Pulverise.
Vicky is delighted by the response she has been receiving and says “Hopefully, the contest will inspire more females to pick up those sticks and take up drums”.
